The Artist

Sat Jan 31, 2009, 11:11 AM
Art in all its many forms is for the sake of the Artist. All other interactions are secondary. That is to say inconsequential, to both the art and artist themselves. Let us not forget this simple assertion.

Life & Such

It seems that i have fallen into a rut. I Have not been taking photos nor painting. On the other hand i have been reading a writing quit a lot. I would put some of the texts up on here but the seem so be part of a larger work an until i figure that out they will remain privet. i do have a blog that has some of the thoughts and ramblings that have happened so far however, that will also remain privet until it starts to take shape.

Anyway, i will attempt to post more work here once i come to grips with this current state. i would rather wait and do other things instead of post sub-par art. stay tuned in you care to. and in the mean time look at some work by people who are being visually productive.

Life & Such

Not much to say here on the home front. I have read two wonderful books in the last month or so. The first being The Raw Shark Texts by Steven Hall. And, the second being, The Holy by Danial Quinn. Raw Shark Texts was quite enjoyable. also it is surprising that this is Halls first novel the quality of the writing is impressive and the books ability to transcend genres is intriguing. While The Holy is from a seasoned author, it still pushes the limits and it truly a original story. Quinn is the author of Ishmael which is a highly celebrated text. I recommend both books quite highly and wold love to hear from anyone who has read them.

Great News And So On

Journal Entry: Tue Jul 22, 2008, 9:31 PM

DD

Yes it happened I have received a Daily Deviation. And I find out about it many days after the fact. It seems appropriate that I start by thanking =utqtbry and ^Staged for the suggestion and feature. Both of you will be given, with your permission, a print of the piece. Now that tis has been said I can indulge myself by typing whatever I want. And if you would like to stop reading at this point I do not blame you. So... I have been away for too long 15 weeks to be precise. This was not a intentional absence yet one which seems to happen quite often. Sarah logs on today after I am hope from work, making coffee for people who don't need more caffeine. And, she tels me Ryan, you got a DD. this is amazing news considering I have been gone for so long. So yes I am amazed and overjoyed. And thankfully I am off tomorrow because I will no doubt be up for hours doing many things here on dA. But i have typed much more than is needed. And I should be responding to you all. So yeah... thanks and I will do my best to thank each of you.

P.S. I am having so problems with my journal, things have changed and I ma be looking for a new template. Any ideas?
